Why this result

This is a neutral reference build anchored to a 38-inch 5-iron. Published manufacturer specifications vary, so compare the final chart with the exact model you plan to buy.

What this doesn’t cover

  • Dynamic impact, strike location, launch, and dispersion.
  • Posture and swing plane; both can change useful length and lie.
  • Brand/model “standard” differences, often several quarter-inches.
  • Shaft weight, torque, bend profile, head weight, and swingweight.

Measure it, choose the club, and compare it with the active chart. Nothing is uploaded or saved.

Build your personal chart first, or compare against the visible reference build.

Measurement method: for woods and irons, measure with the sole against a 60° plane; for putters, follow the shaft axis to the sole. A flat-on-floor tape measurement is not the official method.

    Method & sources

A static start, with the arithmetic visible

Height sets a coarse length band. Wrist-to-floor checks arm proportion and can move that start by no more than half an inch. The result is intentionally bounded because static charts cannot see posture, strike, or ball flight. “Reference build” replaces “standard” throughout the tool: current manufacturers publish different lengths for clubs with the same number.

Junior mode uses player height rather than age. It selects U.S. Kids Golf’s 3-inch height band and derives a compact reference bag inside PING’s published junior custom-length range. Flex and grip remain optional: they appear only when the corresponding published input is supplied.
